** IMPORTANT: Volunteers Still Needed! **

There are still some important volunteer positions that need to be filled before we can run the days events (we need a second starter for the Dual Slalom, some event set up crews still need filling and two race day groups are in need of tail gunners). If you haven't yet signed up for a volunteer position, please do so ASAP. Thank you for helping us to make Sunday a fabulous event for ALL of our athletes.

2020 Cookie Cup Race Information

We are super excited for this fun focused event and hope you and your racers are too! All athletes should arrive a bit early (8:45) to allow time to get into groups and organized for the day. Athletes will meet with their assigned coach and will head to the lift at 9:00 promptly.

The Cookie Cup will be comprised of four events: Snow Starts Skills, Speed Trap, Dual Slalom and Team Ski Cross. All events will be set below Catamount chair on Wolverine, lower Big Ben, and Crowfoot. Within their groups, athletes will be divided into teams of 3-4 and will receive a team score for each event. Groups will circulate Catamount chair with their coaches, U12/14 leaders and tail gunners, and aim to get at least two-three runs through each event.

Lunch break will occur at ad hoc times.. The plan with coaches is to rotate a couple of groups in at a time at the yurt. Generally, the U8 groups will start to come in around 11:15 and the older groups later.

During the Cookie Cup coaches will stay with their groups for the entire day and circulate
the Catamount chair with their teams. If you are not already signed up to volunteer for the event, please talk to your coach in the morning to make sure the group has enough support.
Expectations of Parents

During the Cookie Cup coaches will stay with their groups for the entire day and circulate the Catamount chair with their event day groups. If you are not already signed up to volunteer for the event, please just talk to your coach in the morning to make sure the group has enough support. These events cannot happen without volunteers. If you are not tail gunning, check in with Rhonda L if you have not yet signed up to help make our events run as fun and safe as possible.
Post-Race Social

At the end of the day’s events, all athletes and parents are invited to gather at the Winston Pub. The Cookie Medals will be given out, and happy hour for parents will begin at 3:00 (or as soon as we’re off the hill). This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, children and coaches, and have some fun.

The Winston is located on the ski hill at: 1593 Cache Close
Thanks to all who have volunteered! If you have any further questions, please email

Role of the Tail Gunners

The expectation is that you will be with the group for the day. Please introduce yourself to the coach and the group of athletes first thing in the morning. During the Cookie Cup, tail gunners will be responsible for helping to:
  1. Help corral the athletes in the lift line, off of the lift and at the top and bottom of each event.
  2. Supervise and help with riding of the Catamount chair (depending on the age of your group, this will require different levels of involvement).
  3. Record data at the bottom of each event (the finish area), before moving on to the next event. This may be a time or a speed. Be sure to station yourself close to the speed gun on the speed trap and the finish line for the obstacle course and ski cross. The information for each event should be on the score card provided by the coach.
Coaches will stay at the top of each event and be responsible for sending the athletes down the course. Tail gunner and coach should come up with a plan at the top of each event. You will need the scoresheet for the group and a pencil. You may also need your phone as a stopwatch.

Once the group has completed all of the runs through the course the Score Card needs to be given back to your coach for the final tally before the awards ceremony.

Thank you for all your help with this. Let’s have a GREAT DAY!!!!!
